(2) Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's brother died in harness on 01.07.2010 while working as Paricharak Grade-III Lineman in the respondents department, for which the petitioner has made an application for appointment on compassionate ground which is pending consideration before respondent authorities and as the same has not been considered and decided till this date in accordance with law and, therefore, direction may be issued to respondent authorities to decide the same
expeditiously.
(3) Prayer appears to be fair and reasonable.
(4) Be that as it may, respondents No.1 to 3 are directed to consider and pass an appropriate order on the pending application of the petitioner for compassionate appointment in accordance with law expeditiously preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
(5) It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case and the respondent authorities are free to decide the application of the petitioner in accordance with law. (6) With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition stands disposed of.
