1. The present petition was filed by the petitioner assailing the rejection of the candidature of the petitioner for grant of compassionate appointment.

2. The writ petition was filed in the year 2015. Today when the matter was called, the counsel for the petitioner submits that in January, 2017, a fresh notice was issued to the petitioner by the respondents-Food Corporation of India asking the petitioner to fulfill certain formalities, on the basis of which his claim for compassionate appointment could be reconsidered. He submits that a direction be issued to the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner in the light of the letter dated 02.01.2017 issued to the petitioner by the Food Corporation of India.

3. Considering the subsequent developments after the filing of the present writ petition, particularly the notice dated 02.01.2017 issued by the Corporation to the petitioner, this Court is of the opinion that ends of justice would meet if the respondents are directed to consider the claim of the petitioner subject to the petitioner furnishing all the formalities as has been sought for by the Corporation vide their letter dated 02.01.2017. If the same has not been finalized till date, the same be finalized in accordance with the rules governing the fields within an outer limit of 4 months from today.

4. It is made clear that the respondents while reconsidering the claim of the petitioner should not be under any sort of influence of the earlier rejection order.
