Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that father of the petitioner who was working with respondent died on 12/12/2011 while in service. At the time of the death the petitioner was minor, subsequently in the year 2014 while she was aged about 17 years an application was filed Annexure P-2 for compassionate appointment. It is contended that the said application for compassionate appointment still is not decided and the respondent may be directed to decide the application for compassionate appointment of the petitioner within a reasonable time. 2.
Prima facie perusal of the application Annexure P-2 would show that the petitioner i.e. daughter of late Peter Toppo shown to be minor in the application dated 20/08/2014 (Annexure P-2) which is for compassionate appointment she is shown to be of 17 years. In any case, when the application for compassionate appointment was filed, the same cannot be kept undecided for an indefinite period. Under the circumstances, since Annexure P-2 application for compassionate
appointment holds endorsement that it was submitted on 20/08/2014, respondent No.3 is directed to decide the application of the petitioner for compassionate appointment after verification of the fact about age of the petitioner within a further period of six months from the date of receipt of this order.
