1. The challenge in the present is to the impugned order of punishment Annexure P/1 dated 17.05.2021.
2. The petitioner vide the said impugned order has been inflicted with a punishment of stoppage of two annual increment with cumulative effect. The order of punishment has been passed under the provision of Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules 1966. The impugned order is an appealable order under Rule 23 of the said Rule of 1966. It appears that the petitioner has not preferred an appeal to the Appellate Authority and has rushed to this Court by way of a writ petition.
3. Given the said facts that there is an alternative statutory remedy available to the petitioner i.e. by way of a departmental appeal, the writ petition at
-2this juncture is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to prefer an appeal to the Appellate Authority. Subject to the petitioner preferring an appeal, it is expected that the Appellate Authority shall take a decision on the appeal at the earliest preferably within a period of 90 days from the date of receipt of copy of the appeal by the petitioner.
