1. Land belonging to the joint family of which the petitioner was one of the member, was acquired for the benefit of SECR. Petitioner would pray for a direction to the respondents to consider his case for grant of appointment in lieu of acquisition of his land.

2. If the prayer is allowed, this Court would be required to direct offering of

employment to the petitioner in an organization which is a department of Government of India, therefore, in view of the law laid down by the Supreme Court in the matter of L. Chandra Kumar Vs. Union of India and Others1, the subject matter is not cognizable by this Court.

3. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed, however, liberty is reserved in favour of the petitioner to prefer a duly constituted Original Application before the jurisdictional Central Administrative Tribunal. Sd/- Judge Prashant Kumar Mishra Ashu (1995) 1 SCC 400
