1. Claim of the petitioner is for a direction to the respondent to consider the claim of the petitioner for promotion from the post of Superintendent to the post of Deputy Collector. The petitioner submits that he has got very short tenure left for his retirement and in case if the respondent do not take urgent steps for promotion that the petitioner is entitled for to the post of Deputy Collector, he may

-2retire on the lower post which would be detrimental to the interest of the petitioner so far as his retiral dues are concerned and which would also adversely affect the pension that he would get.

2. Given the aforesaid grievance which the petitioner has raised coupled with fact that there are vacancies available so far as the post of Deputy collector is concerned. This Court is of the opinion, let respondent No. 1 & 2 take an appropriate steps for promotion from the post of Superintendent to the post of Deputy Collector at the earliest preferably within a period of 4 months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
