1. The relief sought for by the petitioner in the present writ petition is for a direction to the respondent No.1 to decide the departmental appeal, which is pending before him.

2. The facts of the case is that the petitioner was inflicted with an order of punishment dated 20.12.2012 of stoppage of one annual increment with non-cumulatively effect. The petitioner immediately preferred an appeal before the appellate authority on 18.01.2013 and till date the appeal has not been decided by the authorities concerned.

3. The counsel for the petitioner makes a limited prayer that the respondent No.1 be directed to decide the appeal on merits.

-24. The prayer so made has not been opposed by the state counsel.

5. Accordingly, the present writ petition stands disposed off with a direction to the respondent No.1 that if the petitioner has preferred an appeal and the same is still pending or is undecided, the same be decided within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of the certified copy of this Court's order.
