1. The limited grievance that the petitioner has is the incorrect date of birth of the petitioner that has got recorded in the service records of the petitioner.

2. According to the petitioner, the date of birth of the petitioner has been wrongly got entered on account of error on the part of the respondents. The petitioner further submits that since long he has been making representation to the authorities for an appropriate correction of the date of birth in the service records which till date has not been accepted by the authorities concerned.

3. The counsel appearing for the respondents submits that since the representation of the petitioner is still pending consideration, let the writ petition be disposed of directing the authorities to take a decision on the

-2representation of the petitioner in accordance with rules and regulations governing the field.

4. Given the said submission by the counsel for the respondents, the writ petition at this juncture stands disposed of directing the respondents to consider and decide the representation of the petitioner at the earliest so far as alleged anomaly in the date of birth of the petitioner is concerned.

5. In addition, the petitioner would also be at liberty to make a fresh representation and in case if fresh representation is made, the period of limitation in deciding the representation would be 60 days from the date of receipt of fresh representation.

6. It is made clear that this court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case.
