1. Heard.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that since the matter relates to promotion to the post of Company Commander, for which, the petitioner is entitled, the writ petition may be disposed of with liberty to the petitioners to submit representations before the competent authority with further direction to the authority to decide the representations at the earliest.
3. Considering the entire facts situation of the case, the petitioner is permitted to move representations before the competent authority within a period of one month from today and thereafter, the competent authority shall decide the representations, at the earliest, preferably within a period of 3 months thereafter.
4. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case and the petitioners' representations shall be decided strictly in accordance with law without treating any observations made in this order either for or against the petitioner.
