Petitioner is permitted to implead Life Insurance Corporation of India, through its Branch Manager, Branch Janjgir-Champa. 2.
Petitioner's husband Shatrughan Singh Rajput had a Jan Dhan Yojana account, to which Jan Dhan Bima Yojna was applicable. In case of death of Jan Dhan Yojna account holder, a sum of Rs.30,000/- is admissible to the concerned insured person under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna Scheme. Petitioner has moved an application before the Collector, Janjgir-Champa for grant of entire amount of compensation, however, the same has
not been processed, therefore, the writ petition. 3.
Perusal of relevant clause, which deals with disbursal of claims under the scheme, would mention that the claim shall be processed by the Office of LIC and Group Insurance Office. Thus, the petitioner should have moved the application before the Authority identified for the purpose under the scheme. 4.
Let the petitioner move fresh application before the LIC, Branch Janjgir-Champa, Main Office at the district level at JanjgirChampa within a period of 4 weeks from today and thereafter the said Authority shall consider and decide petitioner's application in accordance with the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna Scheme within next 12 days. In the event, the petitioner is found entitled to the amount, the same shall be disbursed within the above time frame.
