1. All the petitioners in the present writ petition are working on the post of Assistant Nursing Superintendent. The petitioners were substantively holding the post known as Matron. According to the petitioners, the Brahmaswroop Committee have recommended a particular pay scale to the Matrons which has not been granted to the petitioners till date. According to the petitioners, they are substantively Matrons and the nomenclature of the said post has been changed to Assistant Nursing Superintendent. It is the further contention of petitioners that the pay scale as recommended by Brahmaswroop Committee has been made applicable in the Department of Medical Services but the same has been declined in the Medical Education Department. The further grievance of petitioners is that in spite of various repeated representations that the petitioners have made, the same till date have not been finalized.

Given the limited grievance that the petitioners have and at the request of the petitioners, the writ petition at this juncture stands disposed of directing the respondents 1 & 2 to take an appropriate decision on the representation of petitioners in accordance with the circulars issued by the Department in respect of Assistant Nursing Superintendents, if any or Matrons as the case may be, at the earliest preferably within a period of 90 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The petitioners would also be entitled to make a fresh

representation along with all relevant records in support of their contentions.

3. With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition stands disposed of. Sd/- (P. Sam Koshy) Judge Khatai
