The applicants have been arrested on 21.02.2016 in connection with Crime No. 14 of 2016 registered at Police Station Karpawand, District Bastar for the offence punishable under Section 4, 6, 10 (1) of Chhattisgarh Krishak Pashu Parirakshan Adhiniyam, 2004.

Case of the prosecution, in brief, is that the applicants were found taking 66 cattle for slaughter to Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. 3.

Learned counsel for the applicants submits that the applicants have been arrested on 21.02.2016. The allegations against the applicants are false. It is submitted that the applicants are agriculturist. The further submission is that investigation is complete and charge sheet has already been filed. The detention of applicants is no longer necessary for further investigation, and therefore they may be released on bail on imposing appropriate conditions to secure their presence.

On the other hand, learned counsel for the State has opposed the bail application and submits that looking to the huge number of cattle found in possession of the applicants and the allegations that the cattle were being taken for slaughter, the bail application may be rejected. 5.

Having heard learned counsel for the parties and upon due consideration, the bail application is allowed. It is directed that the applicants shall be released on bail on their furnishing a personal bound in the sum of Rs. 20,000/- each with one local surety of the like amount to the satisfaction of the concerned trial Court. They shall appear before the Court below on each and every date given to them by the said Court till disposal of the trial. 6.
