The petitioners, who are graduate Engineers in the Water Resources Department, have preferred these writ petitions seeking direction to the respondents to include the name of the petitioners at the appropriate place in the list annexed with the Government letter dated 10-2-2015 prepared for promotion of Assistant Engineer (Civil) to the post of Executive Engineer.

It is common ground that during pendency of the writ petitions the promotion orders have already been issued.

In view of the subsequent development, the prayer made in the writ petitions has been rendered infructuous. Accordingly, all the writ petitions are disposed of with liberty to the petitioners to prefer fresh writ petitions by raising all substantial grounds, including the grounds in the present writ petitions for seeking promotion on the post of Executive Engineer.

There shall be no order as to costs.
