1. The limited grievance that the petitioner has in the present writ petition is in respect of non-granting of weekly off which the petitioner is otherwise entitled for.

2. Learned counsel appearing for respondents submits that the petitioner at times because of administrative exigency is required to work on weekly off day. However, in case the petitioner is made to work on weekly off day, he was suitably paid for the said extra work discharged by him. Counsel for respondents refers to Annexure R-1 that he has

filed along with the preliminary objection.

3. Be that as it may, since the grievance is only in respect of nongranting of weekly off to petitioner, the present writ petition, at this juncture, stands disposed of directing the petitioner to approach the respondents by way of a suitable representation in respect of his grievance and the respondent authorities in turn may consider the same in accordance with the rules governing the field particularly in respect of the claim for weekly off. Let the respondents consider and settle the grievance of petitioner at the earliest in accordance with law.

4. Needless to mention that in case the petitioner is made to discharge his duties on weekly off days, under the rules governing the field the petitioner should be compensated either by granting compensatory leave or by granting appropriate monetary benefits if the rules so provides or whatever the Rules provide.
