The present writ petition has been filed aggrieved of the action of the respondents in rejecting the application for compassionate appointment. The application has been rejected on the ground that wife of the deceased and the mother of the petitioner is found to be in government employment. 2.
Indisputably, the father of the petitioner was working under the respondents. He died in harness on 01.01.2020. The mother of the petitioner i.e. widow of the deceased is already in government employment.

Given the fact that the wife of the deceased is found to be in government employment, the question of granting compassionate appointment to any other person in the family would not arise in terms of the policy governing the field. The scheme for compassionate appointment is only to ensure that the widow and children do not face state of penury after death of the
-2employee. In the instant case admittedly the widow is a government employee and there is sufficient means available for their sustenance. The policy of the State Govt. also does not envisage grant of further employment when somebody else in the family is already in government employment.
