1. Aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the respondents in not finalizing the application for compassionate appointment moved by the petitioner, the present writ petition has been filed.

2. The contention of the Counsel for the petitioner is that father of the petitioner died in harness on 27.12.2014 and under the policy governing the compassionate appointment at the relevant point of time, the petitioner was entitled for compassionate appointment.

-2Accordingly, the petitioner had moved an application on 26.02.2015 (in the form of an affidavit and as claimed by the petitioner to have submitted) which till date has not been finalized. The petitioner has subsequently made repeated representations and reminders but no decision has till date been passed by the authorities which led to the filing of the present writ petition.

3. Given the said fact that the application of the petitioner is still pending consideration before the authorities concerned, the writ petition at this juncture is disposed of directing the respondents No. 2 & 5 to take an appropriate decision on the claim of the petitioner for compassionate appointment strictly in accordance with the policy governing the field applicable on the date of death of the deceased employee. Let a decision in this regard be taken by the respondents No. 2 & 5 preferably within a period of 90 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The authorities concerned are directed to take a decision after due verification of the factual aspects as put forth by the petitioner.
