The petitioner has filed this petition praying for various relief including a prayer that a direction be issued to respondent authority to provide him security. It is submitted that the petitioner is a political leader, championing public case and because of his role played, the criminals are extending threat to his life. It is submitted that earlier a security cover was provided to him but the same has been withdrawn.
2. After going through the contents of the petition and the documents attached, it is found that the petitioner had made a representation to the Superintendent of Police, Raipur on 08.07.2014 praying that his life and liberty be protected.
3. The petitioner, in this petition, has come out with an apprehension of his life due to his political activities.
4. It is the duty of the Administration and police to protect life and liberty to every citizen. If any such complaint is made to the police authority and the administration, such complaint need to be examined on relevant aspects and decision to be taken. Therefore, considering that on record, the last representation made by the petitioner was on 08.07.2014 and there is no material to show that thereafter, in the recent past any incident happened with the petitioner, I am not inclined to keep this matter pending. Respondent No.2 shall examine petitioner's grievance and take appropriate decision on petitioner's request in accordance with law.
