1. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the respondents in their return have stated that the proposal for acquisition of a part of land belonging to the petitioners, which has already been taken over, has been sent and the matter is

-2pending consideration. Therefore, at this stage this petition may be disposed off with a direction to respondents to expedite the matter.

2. Learned counsel for the State, referring to the averments in the return, submits that the petitioner's claim is pending consideration and the decision shall be taken as expeditiously as possible.

3. In view of what has been stated in para-2, 3 & 4 of the return, this petition, at this stage, is disposed off with a direction to the respondent authority to expedite the proposal and take appropriate decision in the matter of award of compensation to the petitioners at the earliest.

4. If the compensation is not paid to the petitioners within reasonable time, the petitioners would be at liberty to revive.
