1. The limited grievance which the petitioner has raised in the present writ petition is for a direction to the respondents to insure that the disciplinary proceedings, which has been initiated is concluded at the earliest.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner was subjected to departmental enquiry more than two years back and by now the entire enquiry proceedings have already been completed, but the respondents have till date not finalized the same by passing a suitable order. He submits that the petitioner is already aged around 57 years and has got only a few years of service left and pendency of the departmental enquiry could also be detrimental to the promotional avenues, which the petitioner is entitled for, thus wants the departmental enquiry to be concluded at the earliest.

3. The prayer of the petitioner seems to be fair and reasonable, therefore this Court does not intend to keep the writ petition pending any further and is inclined to dispose of the writ petition directing the respondent No.2 to ensure that departmental enquiry initiated against the petitioner is concluded and the finalized as per rules at the earliest preferably within a period of 6 months from the date of receipt of the order of this Court.
