1. The grievance of the petitioner in the present writ petition is the inaction on the part of the respondent no. 2 in not releasing the salary payable to the petitioner since June, 2019 till date.

2. According to the petitioner, he has been discharging his duties as a part time sweeper under the respondent no. 2. However, for some reason, the petitioner has not been paid his salary from June, 2019 onwards till date. A similar writ petition was filed by other similarly placed persons ie., WPS No. 3809 of 2020. In the said writ petition, the learned State counsel on due verification has submitted that the authorities have meanwhile released the salary payable to the petitioner for the period

-2between December 2019 to April 2020.

3. Given the said fact that in case of similarly placed persons, the respondents have subsequent to the filing of the writ petition, cleared the salary part payable to the petitioner. There is no reason why the petitioner in the present case be deprived of the similar benefits. For this small issue, the writ petition need not be kept pending particularly when the claim is only for the salary payable, even otherwise is required to be released to the petitioner.

Given the aforesaid factual matrix of the case, the present writ petition in the opinion of this Court can be disposed off directing the respondents to immediately redress the grievance of the petitioner and in case if he has discharged his duties during the said period between June 2019 till date, appropriate steps should be taken by the respondents for promptly releasing the salary at the earliest, preferably within a period of sixty days from the date of receipt of copy of this Order.
