The grievance of the petitioner is in respect of non finalization of the promotion process for which advertisement was issued in July, 2010.

The matter could not be finalized on account of some writ petitions pending before this High Court, the lead case being WPS No.4012 of 2010. All those writ petitions stood dismissed on 01.08.2017. Pursuant to dismissal of those writ petitions, there is no further impediment in the way of the respondents in finalizing the promotion process for which advertisement was issued.

The petitioner submits that meanwhile, the promotion process initiated in different districts have already been completed and promotion orders have been issued.

Given the nature of dispute, this court does not intend to keep this petition pending any further and the petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents No.2 & 3 to take appropriate steps at the earliest to ensure that the promotion process for which advertisement was issued in July, 2010, is finalized. Let this exercise be done as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of 34 months. 5.
