Counsel for the respondent submits that the direction in the writ petition was for deciding the appeal filed under Rule 23 of Rules, 1966. Counsel for the respondent has produced an order passed by the Collector, Mahasamund dated 25.06.2018 whereby the appeal of the petitioner stands decided.

In view of the fact that the direction given by this Court to decide the appeal has been decided by the respondent, this Court is of the opinion that the order stands duly complied with. Hence, the contempt proceeding does not survive any further. Reserving the right of the petitioner to avail other

remedies available to him, the present contempt petition stands closed and disposed of and the respondent stand discharged from the contempt proceedings.
