1. The claim of the petitioner in this petition is for an appropriate direction to the respondents for grant of maternity leave to the petitioner for a period of 180 days as per the provisions of law.

2. The counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been granted 90 days maternity leave whereas, she is entitled for 180 days of maternity leave. He further submits that the petitioner has since moved an application before the respondent No.3 for further grant of 90 days of maternity leave which is still pending consideration.

Given the said facts that the petitioner has already been granted 90 days maternity leave, this court is of the opinion that the respondent No.3 may take an appropriate decision on the application of the petitioner for extension of maternity leave keeping in view the judgment passed by this court in Devshree Bandhe Vs. Chhattisgarh State Power Holding Company Ltd. & Ors., WPS No.101 of 2017, decided on 20.02.2017.

4. Let the respondent No.3 take an early decision on the claim of the petitioner within a period of 30 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

5. The writ petition accordingly stands disposed of.
