The petitioners' grievance is that the application for grant of
-2compassionate appointment under the provision relating to 'Social Security' contained in Chapter IX of the National Coal Wage Agreement, has not been decided till date.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the husband of the petitioner No.1 and father of petitioners No.2 & 3 died while in service on 22.12.2015. Promptly, an application for compassionate appointment has been submitted on 09.03.2016 but till date, it has not been decided. The petitioners' family is facing sever financial crisis. 3.
Considering the aforesaid submissions and keeping in view the spirit of the provision of compassionate appointment that it is to provide the family of the deceased immediate relief on account of death of sole bread earner of the family, I am inclined to dispose off the matter with a direction to respondents to decide the petitioner's application on its own merit and in accordance with the present and applicable policy within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order 4.
The petition is accordingly disposed off.
