1. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has made an application for voluntary retirement on 21.6.2012 and same is pending consideration before the respondent No.1 and 2. Therefore, respondents No.1 and 2 may be directed to consider the application of the petitioner for voluntary retirement.

2. The prayer appears to be fair and reasonable.

3. Respondents No.1 and 2 are directed to consider and dispose of application of the petitioner on its own merit in accordance with law as early as possible preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not directed for grant of voluntary retirement to the petitioner. The respondents shall consider the application on its own merit.

4. With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No order as to cost(s).
