Challenge in the present writ petition was initiation of the departmental enquiry along with criminal case which was registered against the petitioner for which the petitioner was facing trial. Today when the matter is taken up for hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that pending the writ petition the petitioner has died on 15.01.2021.

Given the fact that the petitioner has now died, the dispute raised in the present writ petition no longer survives and the writ petition accordingly stands disposed of reserving the right of the legal heirs of the petitioner to take appropriate recourse available to them under the law.
