Learned counsel for the petitioners at the outset makes a limited prayer that as of now the writ petition be disposed of directing the respondents authorities to consider and decide the representation of the petitioners in respect of creation of new posts, by which the

-2petitioners can have the further promotional avenues in their service career.

The representations of the petitioners have been collectively marked as Annexure P/3 & P/4 and which are pending before the respondent authorities for quite sometime.

The limited relief sought for is not opposed by the State counsel. However, the State counsel submits that any creation of posts or making availability of further promotional avenues are all a policy decisions, which have to be taken considering the economic viability of the same and also whether the said posts are required at this juncture are not ?

Given the limited relief that the petitioners have sought for and also taking note of the submission by the State counsel, the writ petition at this juncture stands disposed of directing the respondent authorities to consider and decide the representation of the petitioners on its own merits in accordance with rules, regulations and policies of the State Government.

Let an appropriate decision be taken in this regard preferably within a period of 4 months from the date of receipt of the copy of this order.

With the aforesaid observations, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
