1. The grievance of the petitioner in the present writ petition is the inaction on the part of the respondents in holding the D.P.C for promotion to the post of Executive Engineer from the post of Assistant Engineer in the Panchayat and Rural Development Department in the State of Chhattisgarh.

2. The petitioner in person, submits that for the last two years, DPC has not been convened by the State Government whereas there is a specific rule and guidelines of the State Government for holding D.P.C. annually. The petitioner further submits that there are more than 58 posts of Executive Engineer lying vacant in the department and his name is at Sr. No. 6. He further submits that he has got only 1 and 1⁄2 months' time left for his superannuation and he has been waiting for his promotion; so that at least after his retirement on the promoted post, he could reap the

-2benefits post retirement.

3. Given the limited grievance that the petitioner has and also taking note of the limited tenure of service left for the petitioner to superannuate, he should not be deprived of the benefit of promotion.

4. Hence in the opinion of this Court ends of justice would meet, if the writ petition stands disposed off with a direction to the respondent no. 1 to consider the grievance of the petitioner at the earliest and if possible to take necessary steps for redressal of the petitioner's grievance and many other similarly placed persons in the department.

5. The Office of the Advocate General shall communicate the order passed by this Court immediately to the respondent no. 1 for taking necessary steps keeping in view the fact that the petitioner is going to retire on 31.12.2020.

6. With the aforesaid direction, the present writ petition stands disposed off.
