Learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners are farmers of village Udaan Tahsil Chhuikhadan, District Rajnandgaon. The crops grown by the petitioners are insured under the scheme of Central Government namely, "Pradhanmantri Fasal Bima Yojna" but due to short rainfall in the year 2019-20 in the region, there is situation of drought/natural loss/ natural calamity in the area and yield of the crops in the area is less than 25%. He further submits that in the similarly situated villages, the farmers have already been given the benefit of crop insurance but the petitioners have not been extended the benefit of crop insurance, for which they have made a representation to the Collector, Rajnandgaon, but the same has not been considered and decided till date, therefore, a direction may be issued to the Collector, Rajnandgaon to consider and decide the same expeditiously.

Prayer appears to be fair and reasonable and the same is accordingly allowed.

Be that as it may, the Collector, Rajnandgaon is directed to consider and decide the petitioners' representation in accordance with law expeditiously, preferably within a period of 45 days from the date of
receipt of certified copy of this order. The petitioners are also at liberty to supply additional material/documents before the Collector in support of their cases.

With the aforesaid direction/observation, the writ petition accordingly stands disposed of.
