Grievance raised through this petition is that the application for remission was filed by the petitioner's wife to remit the sentence as he has suffered already more than 20 years of jail sentence, but no steps are being taken by the State to decide the same. 2.
Learned State counsel submits that if any such application is still pending consideration with the competent authority, the same shall be decided as early as possible.

Considering the submission made above, this petition is finally disposed off with an observation that the application of the wife of the petitioner, if not already decided by the competent authority, the same may be decided as early as possible, preferably within a further period of four months.
