1. Without entering into the dispute as to which of the two respondents was responsible for causing delay in making

CONT No. 498 of 2019 payment of amount of compensation to the petitioners despite there being 03 awards, time has come to give quietus to the dispute for the reason that the NHAI has agreed to deposit the entire amount of compensation admissible to the petitioners in accordance with law, within 06 weeks from today. On deposition of the amount, respondent No.2 shall thereafter make payment of the amount to the petitioners within next two weeks.

2. The parties shall be bound by the order passed by the Arbitrator in pending arbitration proceedings before the Arbitrator appointed under Section 3 G(5) of the National Highways Act, 1956. Needless to say, observation by this Court in its earlier order in the writ petition about payment of interest shall remain intact in favour of petitioners.

3. The contempt petition stands disposed of.
