The grievance of the Petitioner is that the Petitioner's wife was working as Assistant Grade - II - cum - Steno Clerk in the establishment of Respondent No.2 who died in harness in the year 2006. After her death, the Petitioner has moved an application before Respondent No.2 seeking compassionate appointment.

The said application has till date not been decided much less any intimation been given to the Petitioner as to what steps have been taken on the said application.

Learned counsel for the Petitioner makes a limited prayer for issuance of a direction to Respondent No.2 to at least inform the Petitioner as to

what decision has been taken on the application for compassionate appointment, whether the Petitioner is entitled for compassionate appointment or not, if he is not entitled, on what grounds. 4.

Learned State counsel has no objection to the relief sought for by the Petitioner.

In view of the above submissions made by learned counsel for the parties, this petition is disposed of with a direction to Respondent No.2 to intimate the Petitioner in respect of steps being taken by it on the application for grant of compassionate appointment made by him. In case, if the decision has already been taken, the Petitioner may be intimated in respect of the order so passed by Respondent No.2. 6.
