Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is posted at Ambikapur district whereas petitioner's wife, who is also a Government servant, is posted at Jagdalpur district. He further submits that there is policy of

Government that as far as possible, husband and wife have to be posted either in the same place or in nearby station subject to administrative exigency. 3.

The facts of the case discloses that presently the petitioner is posted at Ambikapur district for last three years and he has become due for transfer under the exigency of service whereas his wife is posted at Jagdalpur district. 4.

However, considering that there is existing policy of Government to keep husband and wife together, as far as possible, subject to exigency of service, the petitioner's representation may be considered by the respondents to explore the possibility of keeping husband and wife together, at the same place or nearby station, as far as possible, subject to exigency of service, as and when the respondents initiate fresh process of transfer of Government employees. 5.
