1. The limited prayer that the petitioner has made in the present writ petition is for a direction to the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioner for grant of compassionate appointment.

2. According to the petitioner, his father was working as a Multi Task Staff, a Class-IV post, under the respondents. His father died in harness on 01.08.2014. It is said that the petitioner thereafter immediately applied for the compassionate appointment on 25.08.2014, however, the respondents did not take any decision on his application and the petitioner again sent reminders in this regard which too is still undecided.

3. Given the aforesaid facts as narrated by the petitioner, this court is of the opinion that no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping this petition pending, rather ends of justice would meet if this petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.3 to take appropriate decision on the

-2claim of the petitioner at the earliest preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
