The limited relief that the petitioner seeks for at this juncture is for an appropriate direction for the respondents to consider and decide the claim of the petitioner for compassionate appointment. 2.

The petitioner in the instant case has moved an application for compassionate appointment on the death of the deceased Smt. Maiki Bai, the maternal aunt of the petitioner. The claim of the petitioner is only on the basis of the fact that the petitioner was since childhood

-2brought up by the deceased employee and the name of the petitioner also finds place in the service record.

Without expressing anything on the merits of the case, the writ petition at this juncture stands disposed of directing the respondents No. 2 to 4 to take an appropriate decision on the claim of the petitioner for compassionate appointment strictly in accordance with the policy for compassionate appointment and the rules and regulations governing the field.

Let an appropriate decision be taken at the earliest preferably within a period of 90 days from the date of receipt of the copy of this order. 5.

With the aforesaid observations, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
