The main grievance of the petitioner was with regard to the mode of appointment of a retired High Court Judge as Chairman of the Rent Control Tribunal. The second grievance of the petitioner was that there was no qualification prescribed for filling up the post of Member of Rent Control Tribunal. 2.

In pursuance of order dated 12.07.2016, the Chief Secretary of the State of Chhattisgarh has filed his Affidavit and along with Affidavit, he has placed on record copy of the Chhattisgarh Ordinance (No.2 of 2016) of the Chhattisgarh Rent Control (Amendment) Ordinance, 2016 whereby the amendment has been

carried out in the Chhattisgarh Rent Control Act, 2011. 3.

In view of the above, this petition has become infructuous and is accordingly dismissed as having been rendered infructuous. However, leave is granted to the petitioner to file a petition, if he is aggrieved by the amended provisions of the Chhattisgarh Rent Control Act, 2011.
