1. The grievance of the petitioner in the present writ petition seems to be the inaction on the part of the respondents in not convening the DPC for promotion to the post of Joint Director, Prosecution from the post of Dy. Director, Prosecution.

2. According to the petitioner, he has been working on the post of Dy. Director, Prosecution since long. He fulfills all the requisite criteria in terms of the promotion rules governing the field for promotion to the post of Joint Director, Prosecution. He further submits that post of Joint Director category to which the petitioner belongs is lying vacant since long. The counsel for the petitioner refers to the rules governing the field framed by

-2the State Government which requires holding of the DPC frequently if not at least once a year. In the instant case, as per the petitioner, there has not been any DPC held for many years for filling up of the post of Joint Director, Prosecution.

3. Given the said grievance that the petitioner has raised the present writ petition at this juncture stands disposed of directing the respondent no.1 & 2 to take all necessary steps in redressing the grievance of the petitioner by deciding his representation by a reasoned and speaking order to be passed within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

With the aforesaid observations, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
