The petitioner has prayed for a direction to the respondents to assess the amount of compensation and make payment of adequate compensation along with interest @ 18% per

annum from August, 2005 when the Department of Public Works, Pendra Division, has constructed KhargahaniMangla-Bilaspur Road by using part of petitioners' land. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioners would draw attention of the Court to the documents Annexure - P/5 & P/8 wherein it is substantiated that the petitioners' land has been used for such construction of road and the Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, Pendra Division has already submitted requisition before the Sub Divisional Officer (Revenue) for initiating land acquisition proceedings. 3.

In view of the documents Annexure - P/5 & P/8, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction that the concerned Sub Divisional Officer (Revenue)-cum-Land Acquisition Officer shall decide the issue regarding initiation of land acquisition proceedings in respect of petitioners' land, if the same has been used for construction of road, within a period of three months and, thereafter, shall complete the land acquisition proceedings at the earliest, preferably within a period of six months from the date of initiation of land acquisition proceedings.
