1. The petitioner in the instant petition seems to be aggrieved of the decision on the part of the respondents whereby the date of grant of promotion to the post of Principal has been changed.

2. According to the petitioner, he was promoted from the post of Lecturer to the post of Principal, High School vide order dated 08.11.2007. Initially when the gradation list was published in the year 2018 the petitioner's date of promotion was shown as 08.11.2007. The petitioner in the said gradation list was placed at serial No.176. However, in the subsequent gradation list that was published in 2021 the date of promotion of the petitioner has been reflected as 30.06.2010 and the petitioner's name is

-2reflected in the gradation list at serial No.112. Thus, the petitioner has severely affected on the seniority front. The petitioner submits that he/she has already made a detailed representation to the respondent No.3 in this regard seeking redressal of his/her grievance and also for grant of proper seniority, however, till date no decision has been taken on his representation.

3. The State counsel submits that the claim of the petitioner would be considered in accordance with rules and regulations governing the field of seniority particularly taking into consideration the merger of two departments in the meanwhile.

4. Be that as it may, given the aforesaid submissions by the parties, the writ petition at this juncture stands disposed of permitting the petitioner to make a fresh representation to the respondents No.2&3 within a period of 15 days from today and the respondents No.2&3 in turn shall process and consider the claim of the petitioner by passing a reasoned and speaking order within an outer limit of 60 days from the date of receipt of fresh representation.
