Heard learned counsel for the parties.

At the very outset, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners have made an application before the competent authority for conferring the rights (patta) under the Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006, which has not been considered and decided till date and, therefore, a direction may be issued to expedite the same.

The prayer appears to be fair and reasonable and is accordingly allowed.

Be that as it may, the respondent No. 3 - Collector, Balrampur, is directed to consider and dispose of the petitioners' application expeditiously preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.

With the aforesaid observation, the writ petition stands finally disposed of.
