1. The limited prayer that petitioner makes at this juncture is for appropriate direction to the respondents to decide the representation that petitioner has made in respect of the alleged action on the part of the respondents by which the petitioner was denied or deprived of the promotion from the post of Associate Professor to the post of Professor and further promotions.

2. Counsel for the petitioner submits that as of now the grievance of the petitioner shall be redressed if the respondents are directed to decide the representation that petitioner has made in respect of his grievance of non granting of promotion.

-23. To this limited grievance, counsel for the State does not have any objection. However, he submits that claim of the petitioner be considered strictly in accordance with the Rules for promotion governing the field and also the circulars and guidelines issued by the Government in respect of promotion.

4. Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the writ petition at this juncture stands disposed of directing the respondent no.1 & 2 to take appropriate decision on the representation of the petitioner on the grievance of non granting of promotion to the petitioner.

5. Let appropriate decision be taken by the respondent no.1 & 2 within a period of 90 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
