1. The counsel for the petitioner at the outset submits that as of now he only wants that the Department may consider her representation so far as her claim for grant of differential treatment in the process of finalizing the list of eligible candidates for promotion to the post of ADPPO.
2. The claim of the petitioner is on the ground that the petitioner obtained the Law degree long ago and there are candidates who have obtained the law degree in the recent past and in the process, the persons who have obtained the law degree in the recent past by virtue of their seniority in the department and the length of services, would be marching ahead of the petitioner in the zone of consideration for promotion to the post of ADPPO and therefore the respondentauthorities should consider grant of seniority or fix the eligibility criteria on the basis the year of passing of the law degree.
3. Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the writ petition at this juncture is disposed of directing the respondents to take an appropriate decision on the representation so made strictly in accordance with the rules, regulations and guidelines applicable.
