The petitioner's application for renewal of licence as Private Security Agency filed under Section 8 of the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005 (henceforth 'the Act, 2005') and the Rules framed thereunder is pending consideration since 14.10.2015.

In this writ petition, the petitioner has prayed for a direction to the Licensing Authority to decide his application for renewal of licence at the earliest.

Shri U.N.S. Deo, learned Government Advocate appearing for the State on advance notice, would submit that the Licensing Authority would be informed about the requirement of taking decision in the matter within the time provided under Section 8 (2) of the Act, 2005.

In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction that the Licensing Authority shall consider and decide the petitioner's application for renewal of licence under the Act, 2005, at the earliest, preferably within a period of 4 weeks from the date of submission of certified copy of this order. 5.
