1. The limited relief that the petitioner seeks through the present writ petition is for an appropriate direction to the respondent No. 2 to take a decision on the departmental appeal which the petitioner has preferred as early as on 13.06.2020.

2. According to the counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner was implicated with major punishment of reduction to minimum pay-scale for one year vide Annexure P/3 dated 11.05.2020. Immediately thereafter, the

petitioner preferred an appeal to the respondent No. 2 on 13.06.2020, though more than 15 months have passed, the appeal has not been decided by the respondent no. 2 and prayed for an appropriate direction in this regard.

3. Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case of the petitioner, the writ petition at this juncture is disposed of directing the respondent No. 2 to take a decision on the departmental appeal of the petitioner dated 13.06.2020, if not decided till now, within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

4. The writ petition accordingly stands disposed of. Sd/- P. Sam Koshy Judge J/-
