Grievance of Petitioner in the present Writ Petition seems to be the Grade-Pay which the Petitioner is receiving.

Learned Counsel for Petitioner submits that the Petitioner has been working under the Respondents on the post of Associate Professor (Civil Engineering) and that in terms of the criteria laid down by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Petitioner would be entitled for the Grade-Pay of Rs.10,000/- whereas he is as of now being paid the Grade-Pay of Rs.9000/-.

Learned Counsel for Petitioner further submits that the Petitioner is entitled for the Grade-Pay of Rs.10,000/- since October, 2009 which in spite of repeated representations being made has not been considered or granted by Respondents.

Given the limited grievance that Petitioner has, the present Writ Petition at this juncture is disposed of directing Respondents No.1 & 2 to take appropriate decision on the claim of Petitioner, at the earliest, in accordance with the rules, regulations, guidelines in respect of payment of Grade-Pay, particularly in terms of the guidelines and criteria laid down by AICTE. While deciding the claim of Petitioner, the Respondents should also keep in mind the similar relief extended to identically placed persons in the Department.
