The limited relief that the petitioner has sought for in the present writ petition is for an appropriate direction to the respondent No.2 to consider and decide the departmental appeal preferred by the petitioner on 01.04.2021.

The appeal has been preferred against the punishment imposed upon the petitioner vide Annexure P/2 dated 23.02.2021 whereby the petitioner was inflicted with a punishment of reduction in the payscale

to the lowest in the post of Assistant Sub-Inspector for a period of one year.

Given the said fact and also considering the fact that the departmental appeal is pending since 01.04.2021, the writ petition at this juncture stands disposed of directing the respondent No.2 to decide the appeal at the earliest preferably within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of the copy of this order.

With the aforesaid observations, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
