The petitioner claims for compassionate appointment on the death of his father who died in harness on 29.03.1998. 2.

The contention of the petitioner is that the respondents had vide correspondence dated 22.04.2017 called upon the petitioner to appear before the authorities concerned along with all requisite documents and formalities with which the claim of the petitioner could be considered.

The counsel for the respondents submits that they waited for the petitioner to appear on or before 27.04.2017. However, the petitioner did not appear before the authorities and that was the reason his claim for compassionate appointment stood unconsidered.

The object and motive behind framing scheme for compassionate appointment is to meet the immediate financial crisis which the family members of the deceased would face on the death of the deceased employee. The very purpose of enacting scheme for compassionate appointment is for ensuring providing immediate support to the family members of the deceased when the family has lost the bread earner. The object behind the compassionate appointment is also to tide away the immediate financial crisis which the family faces on the death of the earning member in the family.

Keeping in view the aforesaid objects of framing scheme for compassionate appointment, this court is of the opinion that ends of justice would be served if the petitioner is granted one more opportunity by the respondents for producing all his credentials for being considered for compassionate appointment.

6. Accordingly, let the respondents issue a fresh date for the petitioner to appear before them and his case be reconsidered. The respondents shall provide the petitioner a specific date with sufficient time margin so that the petitioner could appear before the regional office of the respondents located at Raipur within a period of three months from the date the petitioner produces certified copy of this order. 7.

It shall be the duty of the petitioner that the the order of this court is brought to the notice of respondents. In addition, the respondent's counsel shall also intimate the matter to the respondents. Sd/- (P. Sam Koshy Judge inder
