1. The limited relief that the petitioner seeks is for appropriate direction to the respondents to decide his appeal as also his mercy appeal that he has preferred before respondent NO.2.

2. The mercy appeal has been preferred against the order of termination dated 21.11.2012 wherein the services of the petitioner has been terminated on account of unauthorized absent for an inordinate long period of more than 406 days.

3. Given the fact that case of the petitioner is that of termination from service therefore it is expected that Director General of Police though not a respondent in the present writ petition is directed to consider and decide

the mercy appeal of the petitioner on its own merits in accordance with law preferably within a period of 90 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
