1. Grievance of the petitioner in this petitioner is the inaction on the part of the respondents in not holding the DPC for further promotion from the post of Deputy Registrar to the post of Additional Registrar and Registrar.

The contention of the petitioner is that he has become eligible for promotion to the post of Registrar w.e.f. 01.01.2021 and that the vacancies on the promoted post are also available and there has been no DPC convened for the said promotion for a considerable period of time. The petitioner further submits that as per rules of promotion applicable in the State of Chhattisgarh, the respondents are required to convene DPC at a regular interval, if not, atleast once an year for filling up of the vacancies of the promotional post. According to the petitioner, the respondents in this case have not taken necessary steps inspite of repeated representations being made in this regard.

3. Given the limited grievance that the petitioner has and also taking into consideration the contention of the petitioner that there are vacancies available on the promotional post from the post of Deputy Registrar and

-2that DPC has not been convened for a considerable period of time, the writ petition at this juncture can be disposed of directing the respondents No.1&2 to consider convening of the DPC in terms of the promotion rules governing the field subject to availability of vacancies and also subject to administrative exigency in requiring to fill up these promotional post. Let an appropriate decision be taken by the respondent authorities within an outer limit of four months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
