Hon'ble Shri Justice P. Sam Koshy Order on Board 30/08/2018 1.

The grievance of the petitioners in the instant Writ Petition is that, though the petitioners were found eligible for promotion from the post of Assistant Revenue Inspector to the post of Revenue Deputy Inspector and their case were also considered by the President In Council (PIC) and a recommendation has been made to the respondent No.2 to reiterate, but no final decision has been taken by the respondents in this regard.

2.

The only limited request which the petitioners have made is for issuance of direction to the respondent No.2 to take a decision on the recommendation made by the PIC which has been forwarded to the respondent No.2 by the respondent No.3.

3.

Taking into consideration the limited grievance of the petitioners, this Court does not intend to keep the Writ Petition pending, rather ends of justice would meet if the Writ Petition is disposed off with a direction to the petitioners to make a detailed representation in this regard through the respondent No.3 to the respondent No.2 within a period of 15 days from today and on such representation being made, the respondent No.2 shall thereafter take a final decision within an outer limit of further 60 days. This Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case, the authorities shall be free to decide the entitlement purely in accordance with Rules.

4.

The Writ Petition accordingly stands disposed off. Sd/- (P. Sam Koshy) Sumit JUDGE
